“Smiles” Photography Contest

Let’s get some grins! Market Street Coffee & Tea is sponsoring a photography contest to get us all smiling. Photography of inanimate objects appearing to smile will be displayed in the window of Market Street Coffee & Tea during April and the winners will be determined by popular vote.

1st - $100 Market Street Coffee & Tea Gift Certificate

2nd - $25 Market Street Coffee & Tea Gift Certificate

Contest Rules

  1. All photographs must be delivered to Market Street Coffee & Tea by
    March 26, 2010, along with the following information:
    1. Artist name
    2. Contact information (phone, e-mail)
    3. Objects in photograph
  2. Photographs must be original photography by entrant. Entrants under 18 years old must have signed release from parent or guardian.
  3. Subject must be inanimate objects appearing to be a face smiling. This can be the product of natural or posed alignment of an object or objects.
  4. No offensive subjects will be accepted. Determination of offensiveness is strictly the decision of Market Street Coffee & Tea.
  5. Photographs must be printed on 8"x 10" matte photo paper in landscape format. (Photo must be 10” wide and 8” high.)
  6. The submitted print of the photograph becomes the property of Market Street Coffee & Tea to use at their discretion for contest promotion, judging, and advertising without any compensation. Electronic copies of the photo must be available to Market Street Coffee & Tea for use in online social media and website.
  7. All rights to the photography remain with the artist except in regards to previous exclusion. (#6 above)
  8. Only the first 48 photographs will be accepted with a limit of 5 per artist. Although up to five photos may be entered, Market Street Coffee & Tea reserves the right to display a minimum of one photograph per artist, depending on the total number of photos entered.
  9. Photographs will be displayed in the front window of Market Street Coffee & Tea. During the voting period, each photo will have only a number to identify it. After voting is completed, the artist’s name will be included with each photo.
  10. Judging will be by popular vote.
  11. Voting period will be from April 7 through April 26, 2010.
  12. Winners will be notified by April 30, 2010 and prizes awarded immediately. Winners’ names will be used in press releases and other communications to the public.
